The Top 3 started off the show with Gotta Get You Into My Life by The Beatles. OK, I wasn’t as annoyed as usual. The camera-work was a tad ‘spinny’, but that’s OK. The Ford Music Video was as forgettable as usual.

Joshua was up first, to hear Jimmy Iovine‘s reaction. Jimmy thought Joshua had a good night, but not his best. He thought the judges were very generous with their standing ovation on his first song (um, they have been handing out (standing out?) those standing ovations to Joshua as if they were candy). He didn’t think it was amazing, but good; it certainly wasn’t ovation-worthy. Ouch. Jimmy concedes that Joshua is the most exciting showman, but delivered an overblown and overemotional rendition of Imagine. It just sat there. Double ouch. Jimmy selected No More Drama for Joshua, and took 100% of the blame that something was missing, since the song didn’t have enough melody. Triple ouch. Consolation: Jimmy still thinks that Joshua belongs in the finale.

Lisa Marie Presley performed You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.

Jessica was up next. Jimmy said that everyone needs a shock and awe moment, and the first song was not enough. Ouch. He was looking for more than was delivered with her second song; at this point she has to have the most magical moment she’s had so far. Double ouch. Jimmy thinks that Jessica is worthy of singing on the Grammy’s (redemption), but I’ll Be There was a bad song choice on his part. Triple ouch. Her voice is more reminiscent of Michael than Jermaine, after all.

Season 8′s runner-up (he was ROBBED!) Adam Lambert performed Never Close Our Eyes. I love him. Did then, do now.

Phillip was up to hear Jimmy’s critique. Jimmy thought he did a great job on Beggin‘. He said that Phillip is entertaining and fun and is developing a unique sound. He liked that he was willing to risk everything, even if it meant crashing and burning, with Disease. It was a snooze-fest. Ouch. His final song won the night hands down. Jimmy thought it was his best performance ever, as well as the best of the night from anyone. It was flawless, and genuinely knocked him out with its emotion and depth. Hmmmmm. Jimmy is loving him some Phillip. Finally!

Ryan asked the judges for some final words before the results. Randy wishes them all the best, and says they are all talented with big careers. J-Lo has enjoyed being on the journey watching them, and thinks it’s heartbreaking to lose anyone, She feels connected to each one. (Really? I thought she was just connected to Joshua). Steven loves them so much because they have the courage to have a dream. What’s in those red cups?

So…who goes to the finale? After almost 90 million votes, Jessica Sanchez is in the finale. Wow! I thought she might be leaving!

I’m really nervous now! Also in the finale is: Phillip Phillips! I confess. I squealed loudly. Very loudly.

So: The finale will be a battle between Jessica and Phillip.

Buh-bye to Screech, I mean Joshua. Guess all those standing ovations didn’t help you in the end. Jo-Lo cried and insisted on a hug, as he exited to It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.

And then there were two. Tune in next Tuesday and Wednesday to find out who will be the next American Idol!

Who will make it to the finale? Each person will get 3 chances to perform tonight. Round One will be a song selected by the judges. Round Two will be a personal selection. Round Three will be a song selected by Jimmy Iovine. Oh, and clips of their hometown visits.

Round One leads off with Joshua Ledet. Randy said that they had picked I’d Rather Go Blind by Etta James. Meh. There was nothing spectacular about this for me, and he inevitably started his screeching. I’d rather go deaf.

Naturally, the judges gave him a standing ovation. Steven said it was another Joshua moment to hear someone sing those old songs. J-Lo said it was a struggle to select the right song for him since he’s such a throwback, but he brought down the house again. Randy said he’s a classic stylist, and the song fit him like a glove.

Jessica Sanchez was up next, and J-Lo said they picked a song with a tenderness that they wanted to hear. They chose Mariah Carey’s My All. Excuse me. Excuse me. These lyrics were a bit too old for her. Nice melody, but did they actually pay attention to the lyrics? The kid is 16! Plus, it was just meh. She didn’t sound as effortless as usual.

Steven said she makes people hang on every note, and that it was over the top. J-Lo said it was a hard song, but she did it beautifully in her own way. Randy thought it was beautiful, and the perfectly right song.

Phillip Phillips closed out the round with Steven explaining the judges’ choice of Madcon’s Beggin‘. He said they wanted to drag the melody out of him. It was classic Phillip, and I would blast this in my car. And the crowd went wild. This is bringing down the house, J-Lo.

Steven thought it was beautiful to watch him unfold, and hopes he will write his own songs. He predicted that he could be the New Age Springsteen. J-Lo thought he was funny, since he messed with the melody and caught the groove. She thought it was great. Randy said we were just at the Phil Phillips concert. He said Phillip has been in the zone since Day 1, and that it was another incredible performance.

Ryan asked the trio who they thought took the round. Randy said there’s no clear-cut winner, but Joshua took it vocally. J-Lo thought Phillip’s performance took it. Steven stayed on the fence between Phillip and Jessica.

Round Two started with the hometown visit for Joshua, followed by his choice of John Lennon’s Imagine. He just had to screech, didn’t he? I can imagine a song without him doing that.

Steven thought it was so fine. J-Lo said he pulled back and controlled his performance, and noted that the 3 finalists are very different. Randy wanted to know why he chose that song (for the message), and said to carry that into the future.

Jessica went home, then opted for Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing. Brazen, brave, and she made a great choice.

Steven thought she took a great song and made it greater. J-Lo thought it was amazing, and commented that Steven never says anything good when people sing his songs. Randy was waiting for the big moment, which he thought she delivered.

Phillip went home, then sang Matchbox 20′s Disease. Again, he put his own spin on it.

Steven didn’t think it was over the top, but said it was who he is. J-Lo said it wasn’t a wow performance, but it was good. Randy didn’t like it either, saying he can do subdued moments in his sleep. It was just OK.

Ding! Round Three! Jimmy chose No More Drama by Mary J. Blige for Joshua. He thought it was a combo of church and R&B. I’m tired of him already. ‘Nuff said.

Steven thought it was beautiful and over the top. Of course he did. J-Lo said he was a blend of knowing what he’s doing and letting go at the same time. Randy said he laid everything on the stage, and was an amazing singer and performer.

Jimmy chose The Jackson 5′s I’ll Be There for Jessica. Uncanny how much she sounded like Michael at times, but finally an age-appropriate song.

Steven thought it was the perfect song for the perfect voice and said she nailed it. J-Lo said it was a good choice from Jimmy, and that she had great tone to her voice. Randy liked it OK, but didn’t love it as she had no ‘moment moment.’

Jimmy gave Phillip Bob Seger’s We’ve Got Tonight. Sigh….WOW! Great song, great job, and I have to admit to getting a tad misty-eyed.

STANDING OVATION!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Steven thought it was beautiful, and showed that he has all that passion wrapped up in him. He also had a lengthy comment completely bleeped. J-Lo thought it was really, really sweet and beautiful. She looked a tad misty-eyed, too. Randy said it was the perfect song at the perfect time, and his best performance on the show ever. He said he had a giant moment, and proved that he could sing the melody. In it to win it!

So, now it’s up to the voters.

My take: Joshua is screechy and overdone, but puts on a performance. Jessica has a beautiful voice, but is dull to watch. Phillip puts on a great show, and knows his strengths. I would say this just may be the end of the road for Jessica. I’d like to see the last of Screech, I mean Joshua.

USA is calling on all Burn Notice fans to help them decide what the new main title sequence should be for season six, premiering Thursday, June 14 at 9/8c.

Recognizing how much the series has evolved over the last seven years, USA and show creator Matt Nix realized the opening was due for an update. But instead, they came up with two – and now they need our help to decide! A little mission of our own.

“I’m thrilled to share the creative process with our fans, who have been an integral part of Burn Notice – from our comic book to their interaction with the show talent on Character Chatter,” said Nix. “I look forward to connecting with them as we decide between the new main title sequences, one reflecting the current style and the other taking an entirely new approach. It’s a very exciting start to an action-packed sixth season.”

By going to www.BurnNoticeFanVote.com or the Burn Notice’s Facebook page, you can view both sequences they came up with and register your vote through Wednesday, May 23. The winning decision will air on the season premiere episode where Michael Westen will be back in our weekly schedules, back on a mission as big as ever – to save Fiona from federal custody.

Using the USA Character Chatter, you can make your case for which one you prefer as well as spreading the word via social networks like Facebook and Twitter. So, what are you waiting for? Let your voice be heard and hopefully your favorite will win out.

As Criminal Minds prepares to wrap up its seventh season, there is no time to be sad just yet because there is still an incredible 2-hour season finale headed our way.

This season has been an incredible one, meaning completely haunting and terrifying, but also shedding light and focus on the amazing ensemble we’ve come to love over the years. We saw Hotch get back in the dating pool, Rossi deal with a painful loss, Morgan find his long-lost cousin, Reid deal with his life expectations, Prentiss rebuild her relationships with the team members, JJ handle being a mother and an agent in the BAU and even our favorite technical analyst Penelope face the possibility of an engagement. Suffice to say, it’s been a good series of episodes.

But this 2-hour season finale promises to show us that it ain’t over yet! In the first hour, the team will go up against a gang of bank robbing serial killers who take over a bank and end up taking one of their own as hostage. The pursuit for these criminals continues in the second hour, but more than just the case is going on now! While Prentiss ponders a job which could take her away from the FBI for good (hint: It is actress Paget Brewster’s last episode), one member of the team gets married! Talk about a finale. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll sit on the edge of our seats… and we’ll probably even have a nightmare or two.

I had the opportunity to catch up one-on-one with series star Thomas Gibson or as I like to call him, Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, to discuss what we’re in store for with the season finale airing Wednesday, May 16 at 9/8c on CBS. He was more than excited to talk about what Hotch and the team have on their plates in this season and next… and I felt safer already just hearing his voice. Check out what he had to share below!

—

On his reaction to reading the finale scripts…

“I’m glad we had two episodes to tell that story [laughs] because it had a lot going on. I think doing a two-parter made a lot of sense. It’s very well structured as far as the suspense and kind of not knowing, I’d say, half way through exactly what’s going to happen at the end and then being able to wrap it up in the way that we did, it feels like the right show to make at the right time, you know?”

On whether we’ll see [Hotch’s son] Jack and [Hotch’s girlfriend] Beth in the finale…

“You’ll see them! You’ll definitely see them. I’m not going to say much more than that, but they’re definitely there. It’s kind of nice, you know?”

On the wedding…

“It’s great and I think that given where we are halfway through the two-parter I would not bet that too many people would know who is going to end up at the altar at the end of the second episode.”

On Prentiss’ second departure and its effects on the team…

“Well, there’s not going to be – there’s no aftermath to it. It’s the beginning of the process. We will sort of find out what the circumstances are and we’re hoping that it will not be the last that any of us see of Emily Prentiss.”

On if the finale will leave much to be discussed and delved into for next season…

“Well, I think that there may be fewer questions, but there’s still going to be some things to be certainly explained and explored for the next season at the end of this one.”

On how this finale stacks up to the rest…

“It’s hard to compare, but I would say that, you know, I don’t want to give anything away, but there may be fewer – we don’t have a smoking gun at the end of this one, which is kind of nice because there is not somebody else with a barrel at a gun pointed at them. This actually has a kind of nice ending to it, which I think is a bit of a change of pace for us for the end of the season, although there is still going to be questions in everybody’s mind about where we’re going from here.”

On the atmosphere on set…

“It was everything that that big platter of [a hostage, wedding and a goodbye] would entail. It had its moments of tension, suspense and fun and a lot of laughter. We have a really good time on our set, maybe in direct proportion to the grimness of the material, but we really never stop having a good time and this was certainly no exception.”

On what he would aspect of Hotch he’d like to bring to light next season…

“You know, that’s a good question. I think that we have a fantastic writing staff and they are as interested in these characters as we are and hopefully as the audience is. And they really are actively interested in exploring what this job does to a person and what this job does to each of these particular people, as each of us are. We’ve come a long way and I think we still have interesting territory to cover. And, you know, the process my character is going through with sort of coming out of the death of his wife and seeing a little bit of hope in his personal life [laughs] and certainly how much the influence of this new person in his life has kind of had for his son and continuing to explore that and then how that integrates or doesn’t integrate with his work life, you know, some of the same challenges that existed in his previous relationship. So, that stuff is all very interesting and certainly will have an effect on what happens with him going forward.”

On what he learns and takes away from the show…

“It’s taught me a lot about the darker side of human nature, and also the people who dedicate themselves to this work. There’s a great article in the New York Times today about early identification of psychopathic behavior and its fascinating stuff. And I think that that’s really why the show is thriving in year 7, is that these are questions that are kind of fundamental to us as human beings. You know, what happened in a certain person’s life at a certain time to turn them into someone capable of these kinds of crimes. And it’s always really interesting, really interesting stuff to consider.”

On advice he’d give to Hotch and the team…

“You know, that’s a good question. Let me think about that. I’m hoping that you can say, “don’t despair about losing Emily Prentiss, that she’ll be back.” I would say that would be the best advice I could give, the most hopeful advice I could give.”

And, last but not least,

His message to the fans…

“We never take [you] for granted! We are absolutely delighted that the show is still around and that our fans who found us very early on are still sticking with us, so that’s really great!”

TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland is one of those shows that has an ensemble so good, they don’t really need any huge guest stars – and yet they always snag them and put them to perfect use! This Wednesday, May 16, that will prove true yet again when the ladies of Cleveland say hello to someone all you fans of Wisteria Lane hold near and dear to your heart: James Denton!

On the episode entitled “Storage Wars,” the ladies bid on an abandoned storage unit and unearth an item of potentially historical proportions which requires Artie Firestone’s expertise. Firestone is played by Jon Lovitz, thus making this a double whammy guest star episode.

So where does James Denton come in? Well, as a truck driver of course! And by the picture above, he seems to be playing it perfectly. When Joy learns how to use a CB radio, she ends up pretending to be something she’s not after befriending a handsome truck driver… aka Denton. This already sounds priceless.

We may have been sad to see Denton leave Desperate Housewives the way he did (RIP Mike Delfino), but we no longer need to be sad because he has returned to us in all his TV glory!

It’s never easy to say goodbye. And saying goodbye to Grant is no exception.

The original SyFy series “Ghost Hunters” is saying farewell to one of the founding members of the ghost hunting team, T.A.P.S, Grant Wilson. Starting the paranormal investigatory organization with his best friend, Jason Hawes, about fifteen years ago and began the smash hit television series based on their work, “Ghost Hunters”, in 2004. Together, with their team, both Grant and Jay have uncovered some pretty spooky guests living almost everywhere, from hotels to museums to every day homes with some very perturbed home owners.

And sometimes this paranormal activity was taking place right under their noses, such as in the Spalding Inn which both Jay and Grant own and run as a functioning hotel.

And this was home to Grant’s final investigation.

Already investigated by the team in the spin-off series, “Ghost Hunters: International”, Jay and Grant investigate the inn with their own team and uncover some very spooky, and very prickly, residents that will leave viewers shivering in their seats in suspense until the last possible second.

That’s how I was anyway.

Grant could not have gone out on a better note and this episode should not be skipped over.

Like I said, it’s never easy to say goodbye, especially to someone like Grant, a friendly, intelligent guy that viewers have loved since day one, but it makes it a little easier when the episode is as good as this.

Check it out May 16 9 p.m. EST.

It wasn’t too long ago that the big season 2 finale of Pretty Little Liars led our favorite Liars to unmask A, but as we all know, the show certainly doesn’t end there! And neither do the lies, the danger, the drama… or the texts!

Season 3 returns to ABC Family at 8/7c on Tuesday, June 5, but the first trailer for the season has been released and is getting us more than excited for the show’s return and all that could be in store for this season.

So, what did we see in that sneak peek? Well, here’s what we caught:

Things seem to be heating up with Spencer and Toby, but Spencer seems to be a brave one to go and speak to a rather terrible looking Garrett in prison who reveals there is “a lot you don’t know.” About A? About Melissa and him? About Ali’s murder? Who knows!

While things also appear to look good for Hanna and Caleb (who was bumped to a series regular this season. Yay!), Hanna certainly will not have it easy this season as we see her interacting with Mona. We’re happy to see that Hanna is going to let it out on Mona, but Mona looks pretty distant sitting in that sanatorium, doesn’t she? And does she know about the return texts and who’s behind them? She mentioned “team A” in the finale, will the team fight on without her?

Again, the relationship between Aria and Ezra seems to be doing well, especially with Ezra there to ensure she’s safe… but apparently he can’t keep her safe at all times. Because there’s that scene that looks like it comes straight from Scream where Aria is screaming in the bathroom stall for help while a figure lurks outside the door. Uh, we can’t wait for that!

Emily looks upset throughout almost the entire trailer and we don’t blame her, especially when she finds that creepy “can’t smile” bracelet. We even catch a glimpse of her in front of a dug-up grave with a shovel in her hand. Did she dig up a(nother) grave? Was it Alison’s? Maya’s? Is Maya really dead? Oh, so many questions!

And then, of course, there’s Jenna. She appears to be moving her sunglasses down. Will the girls find out that she can see again? And what about the Black Swan? No mention of her in the trailer, but she’s certainly still on our minds…

Between returning to Mona’s hotel lair and the new text messages from A, it’s clear that the Rosewood drama is still in full effect… perhaps more than ever. I mean, can you even wait to see how the dynamic changes now that we know about Mona?

Don’t miss a second of theanticipated third season when it premieres
Tuesday, June 5, at 8/9c on ABC Family.

Clint Eastwood is a Hollywood megastar and now his family is opening their home to America when E! brings us their new reality series Mrs. Eastwood & Company on May 20 at 10/9c!

This 10 episode half-hour series will introduce us to the unconventional Eastwood family, following Dina Eastwood, the wife of the film legend, their 18-year-old and 15-year-old daughters Francesca and Morgan and the all-male six member vocal group from South Africa called “Overtone” that Mrs. Eastwood serves as mentor, manager and mother to.

“Nothing is more important to me than family – no matter how you define that,” said Dina Eastwood. “People might be surprised by how we live our lives and our unconventional approach, and I also believe that it’s hard not to fall in love with my band, ‘Overtone.’”

“I’m really proud of my family,” adds Clint Eastwood. “They are a constant source of inspiration and entertainment.”

In their Carmel, CA home, Dina and company prove that not every Hollywood family has to adopt a Hollywood lifestyle… instead, they can adopt a South African boy band! Check out a sneak peek of what to expect below:

The Top 3 will get to go home for the coveted Hometown Hero visits, and the 4th will just get to go home. And who wouldn’t rather have the parade and adoring fans?

Group sing…awkward group sing…of California Dreamin‘. What’s with the faux red carpet and people behind the velvet ropes and stanchions? Nothing can redeem a lame group sing. Not even the Ford Music Video. Yawn. And behind the scenes footage of the video. Double yawn.

On to the results. First up is Phillip, with critique by Jimmy Iovine. Jimmy said that when Phillip changed up the arrangement of Have You Ever Seen The Rain to include a sax rather than acoustic guitar, it was the beginning of finding his own identity. His Volcano finally delivered on the promise of what they’ve been looking for. Phillip said it’s been a long journey to get to this point, and he feels really blessed. Back to the couch.

By the way, there were almost 70 million votes; 10 million more than last week.

Hollie is next. Oh, we’re going in the order they performed last night. Clever. Jimmy thought that Hollie’s tendency to over-sing actually worked to her benefit when she sang Faithfully. Jimmy decided not to push anyone with their personal song choice, and thought she understood the core of the Bonnie Raitt song. She didn’t, so she crashed and burned. Back to the couch.

Season 7 winner David Cook debuted his new single The Last Song I’ll Write For You.

Joshua was up next, and Jimmy said he had had the opportunity to show a different side, and should have kept the Josh Groban song simple. The gospel trick didn’t work on You Raise Me Up. The James Brown song was magical though, and captivating. Back to the couch.

Jimmy thought Jessica impersonated an older jazz singer with the Etta James song, and relied on the growl she’s been using since she was 5 years old once again. She used her artillery in all the right places during the Dreamgirls song, and murdered it. Back to the couch.

J-Lo performed Dance Again. (Note to X-tina: this is how a bodysuit is supposed to look).

Ryan asked Steven how he’s seen Phillip evolve. Steven said he’s seen him go from “I Don’t Care” to finding himself and not caring. Yeah, Steven, I think he always knew who he was…you all just had to come around and accept it. J-Lo remembers Hollie’s tear-filled first audition, and is happy to see her now. Randy said that Joshua had mad potential when he first auditioned, and has grown leaps and bounds since then. Jessica’s trick is apparently good singing.

Results:

Jessica: Top 3 Joshua: Top 3

Dramatic pause and commercial break.

Phillip: Top 3 Buh-bye Hollie. She opted for The Climb as her farewell song, and hugged each of the 3 while Joshua and Jessica cried. Stepford Hollie remained dry-eyed.

And then there were 3.

Cougar Town fans, rejoice! While Cougar Town may have been on the cancellation bubble over at ABC, the “cul de sac crew” is not saying goodbye this year, they’re just moving to a different neighborhood!

TBS, known for its always funny and increasingly original programming has ordered a fourth season of the acclaimed sitcom, to begin airing in early 2013. TBS has also garnered the encore rights to Cougar Town’s first three seasons of 61 episodes that originally aired on ABC.

“Cougar Town is a smart, whimsical sitcom that draws its humor from likable, relatable characters” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We are thrilled to have Cougar Town moving to the TBS neighborhood as the network continues to expand its slate of original comedy series.”

Need to catch up or start tuning in? There won’t be a better time than when TBS starts up their Cougar Town encores. Here’s what you need to know to get started. The lovely Courteney Cox stars as Jules Cobb, a recently divorced mom struggling with the challenges and pitfalls that come with a new chapter in life. With a group of friends played by actors Brian Van Holt, Christa Miller, Ian Gomez, Josh Hopkins and Busy Philipps and Dan Byrd starring as Jules’ college-student son, there is never a short supply of laughter!

The announcement of Cougar Town moving to TBS makes it one of many new series TBS is adding to its line-up. This summer we’ll see the premieres of Men at Work and Sullivan & Son and later this year, the debut of the new series Wedding Band.

When TAPS co-lead investigator Grant Wilson announced his impending departure from the team and Syfy’s Ghost Hunters in the winter finale, millions of fans poured in to watch. Now, the time has finally come for Grant to say that final goodbye on next week’s episode… but not without one final investigation.

The episode entitled “Please Sign the Ghost Book” will not only look back at Grant’s most memorable moments over the past eight seasons, but it will also feature his very last investigation at the Spalding Inn in Whitefield, NH.

We don’t want to give away too much from his final investigation, but we can share with you one of his best moments – all the way back in the first episode(!) when he consoles Brenda after hearing some shocking EVPs. Reminisce here:

We also have some preview pictures to show you taken on Grant’s last day with the team. Hopefully this will help tide you over until May 16 where we will have to say one last goodbye to a man we’ve all come to love throughout the many adventures we’ve gotten to share alongside the TAPS team.

They hook us in and keep us on our couches for much longer than we likely intended. Well, get ready for another evening on the couch, then, because Lifetime is set to premiere their latest film, Shadow of Fear, Monday, May 28 at 8 PM.

The movie will tell the story of when a new boy is employed to work in a coffee shop and turned out to be a schizophrenic who refuses to take his medication, making the life of the popular young waitress who works there a misery.

Admit it, it sounds like something certainly worth tuning in for! And with a cast featuring the likes of Blue Bloods’ Will Estes, The Mentalist’s Amanda Righetti, L.A. Law’s Harry Hamlin, CSI’s Eric Szmanda and 7th Heaven’s Catherine Hicks, there is really no reason not to tune in!

The first, California Dreaming, will feature songs from artists that are from California, or songs that are about California. The second round will feature songs that the contestants wish that they had written, aka, songs that personally inspire them.

Oh, yeah. Don’t forget the inevitable clips of each of the four’s journey to get here. They have to fill 2 hours of broadcasting, you know. And duets. And a group sing.

Leading off is Phillip Phillips, with CCR’s Have You Ever Seen The Rain? Let me start by saying that I absolutely love this song, so it pleased me to see him drop the guitar, use the melody, and still make it his own. Definitely a different vibe without his guitar, too.

Steven said that he’s the proof that the road to success is under construction. Huh? J-Lo liked the Joe Cocker quality he brought to the song, and thought that he was perfect for it. Randy thought it started a little rough, until he smiled and got into the fun of it, and that it was perfect from that point on.

Hollie Cavanaugh took on Journey’s Faithfully. This was a good song choice for her, and she seemed to find an emotional connection for once. Of course, it turns out that she had to have the meaning of the song explained to her. Sad.

Steven has enjoyed watching her blossom and her creativity come around. He thought her song choice was over the top and beautiful. J-Lo was verklempt, either by the song or the video clips. She admitted to being emotional about watching Hollie grow, and thought it was very beautiful. Randy thought that she was peaking at the right time in the competition, and that she was right in the zone. Blah blah Steven Perry, playing the song countless times when he was with Journey, blah blah. (We hear this any time someone does a Journey song).

Joshua Ledet sang Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up. The only thing they have in common is their first names. I didn’t think Joshua’s voice suited this song at all, and vice versa. Of course, any excuse to bring out a choir. (And I couldn’t help but compare this to Chris Mann slaying the same song on The Voice. But I digress).

Steven thought he sang his little tush off. J-Lo thought the competition would be getting interesting now, and loved the drama of the raised platform. Randy was extremely happy that he auditioned again this year, and said he was an amazing artist with a great career ahead of him.

Jessica Sanchez sang Steal Away by Etta James. Yhis song was waaaaaayyyyy too old for her. As usual. I didn’t like it.

Steven loved it (of course he did), and thought that she had nailed it. He liked that she showed the other side of her voice. J-Lo thought it was crazy. Randy loved the vibe of blues/soul at 16.

Duet time, with Phillip and Joshua singing Maroon 5′s This Love. They seemed much more comfortable with their duet this week, and seemed to have fun. And I had fun watching Joshua try to be convincing with the lyrics. Try. Phillip had no problem on that score.

Steven thought it was the perfect song for them, J-Lo thought it was the perfect song given how different they are, and Randy thought they sounded amazing.

Next duet, with Hollie and Jessica on swings singing The Bangles Eternal Flame. Note to both: beautiful ballad, age appropriate. I thought it was a good choice that suited both their voices.

Randy thought it was strange, and he didn’t like it, saying they didn’t get the best of either one. J-Lo thought it showed the sweetness and power of both. Steven said they weren’t as good as the guys.

Group sing time, with Foreigner’s Waiting For a Girl Like You. Love the song, hate group sings.

Round Two started with Ryan asking Phillip about his health. Phillip said he’s doing OK. Phillip sang Volcano by Damien Rice. WOW!!!!! I love this guy. It was a beautiful, tender song, accompanied by a cello and a singer. Simple, beautiful, perfection. Sigh.

Steven said he heard the musician, and thought his voice and character were beautiful. And it was beautiful. J-Lo said that very few people could have pulled that off on this type of show, and that it was one of the most beautiful, poignant moments she had ever seen. Randy said that dude, this is what it’s all about. He thought it was amazing, and one of his best performances all season.

Hollie sang Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me. And I didn’t. (Wait…deja vu. I had the same comment when this was performed on another show). I just wasn’t feeling it, and I don’t think she did either; back to Stepford Hollie.

Steven thought it felt a little short of the dynamic range. Just say boring, Steven. J-Lo said it’s hard to interpret a heartbreak song if you haven’t felt it, and that it didn’t happen. Randy thought it was a great song, but didn’t suit her voice, and she had no “moments”. He thought it was the wrong choice at the wrong time. Ouch all around!

Joshua sang James Brown’s It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World. This was a good choice for him, but honestly, I’ve heard it performed better. And recently, on another show. By a woman.

Standing ovation from the judges. Please tell me they were just stretching their legs. Steven said that no man or woman has ever sung it with that compassion ever. J-Lo thought it was sickening, and that everyone had thought they had heard everything that Joshua could do, and they were wrong. Randy thought he had delivered tonight, and gave one of the best performances on any singing show.

OK, I feel compelled to interject here. I think Joshua is a one-note wonder. He screeches, and is most comfortable surrounded by a choir. They give him standing ovation after standing ovation, but that’s easy when he follows Stepford Hollie, who is beautiful, but emotionally- challenged in her songs. And where is Phillip’s standing ovation? They heap him with praise (well-deserved), but won’t stand for him. And kids, except for Phillip, these are the songs that inspire you? Really? OK, enough with the rant.

Jessica closed out the show with Jennifer Holliday’s And I’m Telling You I’m Not Leaving. I guess she told us. This song was in her element, or wheelhouse. Whatever.

Another standing ovation. Steven said it was another winning performance, just over the top. He congratulated her on getting out of herself. J-Lo thought it was crazy, and had nothing to say, other than her vocal ability is not something you see all the time. (Yes, she can sing. But she is NOT a dynamic PERFORMER!) Randy said she was really in it to win it, along with Joshua and Phillip (poor Hollie). He thought she slayed it.

At this point, it’s anybody’s guess, but I would say we’ll be saying good-bye to Hollie.

Amidst Housewives and house flippers, Bravo has always saved a little room for food. With Top Chef as one of their fan favorite series, it’s about time they got around to adding another culinary competition to the network! Tonight at 10, we’ll be introduced to the latest competition show that we’re bound to be sucked into: Around the World in 80 Plates.

Hosted by chefs and food experts Curtis Stone and Cat Cora – really, need we say more to entice you to watch? – this culinary competition is taken to the next level as 12 chefs travel across 10 countries in 40 days and test their skills and determination.

In each episode, the contestants will travel to a different international city where they will learn the local customs, cultures and cuisines as they participate in a gauntlet of culinary challenges. Ultimately, they will face-off in a kitchen takeover where they will not only recreate, but reinvent the menus for world-renowned restaurants and their demanding owners.

And as we see in the promo below, it doesn’t matter what country you’re in… there’s going to be some high drama and intense heat in the kitchen. And if you can’t take that, well, you know what they say. Get out of the kitchen!

Tonight, the series kicks off with the first stop in London, where the contestants not only learn about regional food, but participate in a pub crawl as well. Oh, and, again, there will be Curtis Stone and Cat Cora. Reason enough to check out this delectable premiere.

Dating games seem to be the trend for the summer (like NBC‘s Ready for Love) and now FOX will have two of them to add to your weekly line-up. We’ve already told you about Take Me Out, but now we’ll also have a new celebrity dating game show, The Choice, coming our way June 7.

The Choice, hosted by Cat Deeley, is a dating series with a twist… or should we say a spin? Just check out the promo to see what we mean:

It’s a bit strange to see something with such a similar outline to The Voice – four celebrities, blind auditions and spinning chairs – and rhyming name, but we admit, our curiosity is peaked and we’ll certainly be tuning in this summer.

In an attempt to show that love is really blind and that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, each episode will begin with four of the world’s most eligible bachelors sitting in rotating chairs, turning their backs on love and unable to see the sexy singles looking for a date with fame.

But we don’t have to wait to see who’ll be spinning around in those chairs! The list of celebrity bachelors is varied and promising, leaving us wondering where we were when they were doing casting calls.

Over the course of five episodes we’ll see eligible celebrities like musician Joe Jonas, model Tyson Beckford, actor Dean Cain, chef Rocco DiSpirito, Jersey Shore members Pauly D and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, reality TV star Rob Kardashian, as well as other names of note like Romeo, Parker Young, Jeremy Bloom, Mike Catherwood, Jason Cook, Rob Grownkowski, Steven Lopez, Finesse Mitchell, Warren Sapp, Ndamukong Suh, Seth Wescott and Dr. Robert Nettles (who apparently is still single since the last time we saw him on Millionaire Matchmaker. If you remember him, this fact, then, probably comes as no surprise.)

For a new show right at the start, the celebrity list is fairly impressive. If you don’t know some of the names, just google them. You’ll probably recognize more than you expect.

But the bachelors aren’t the only ones who’ll be looking for love – or a really good date – this summer. There will also be a special sixth episode where some of the most famous bachelorettes will have their chance to get heads spinning when they sit in the hot seat and look for a good match of their own. Those ladies are actress Carmen Electra, model Hope Dworaczyk, Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih and performer Sophie Monk.

In the initial “Blind Round,” each celebrity can only use his (or her) suitors’ voices and the information they share about their life, passions, turn-ons and turn-offs, to help him make the choice. If the celeb bachelor likes what he hears, he’ll pull his “love handle,” spinning his chair around to bring him face-to-face for the first time with his potential date. But if more than one guy pulls the handle, they’ll have to battle each other for her affection until the lady gets the choice to pick whose dating pool she wants to swim in.

The “Blind Round” ends when each bachelor has his three ladies and continues with the “Speed Choice” round, where each woman has only seconds to convince her leading man to sweep her off her feet to the final round.

In the final round, love is on the line when host Cat Deeley poses a challenge question to each of the team’s final two. Based on their answers, the celebrities must then make the choice between each of their two remaining ladies, whisking one away on a dream date and leaving the other in no man’s land.

We’ll be tuning in to see the hilarity that is sure to ensue on both ends of the match… or at least see what types these celebrities go for, will you?

Getting back to nature… going off the grid… searching for a more truthful existence… however you describe it, the “simple life” is not so simple. And we’ll see this in full form when the new series from History called Mountain Men premieres Thursday, May 31, at 10 PM ET.

This new 8-part series follows three men who are the last of their kind, Eustace Conway, Tom Oar and Marty Meierotto, who have chosen the wilderness life as they race against time to obtain the food and supplies they’ll need to make it through the brutal winter months ahead.

For more than 25 years, Eustace Conway has lived off the land deep in Daniel Boone country at the western edge of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. In this unspoiled wilderness, dangers like mudslides, falling trees, ravaging weather and hungry bears are a fact of life. He does his own lumbering, tanning, and blacksmithing, subsisting solely on what he can grow, fish or hunt.

Ancient survival skills can mean the difference between life and death in the wild. It takes a whole year for Tom Oar to prepare for the seven-month-long winters on the Yaak River in Montana, about 100 miles from the nearest town. He needs to chop some 700 square feet of wood to heat his home and find enough food to last the long, unrelenting winter. All the while, he must keep a vigilant eye out for aggressive grizzlies, mountain lions, and wolves.

Meanwhile, up in the northern range of Alaska, Marty Meierotto is piloting his bush plane in search of animal pelts to make a living. But staying alive is a full-time job. As the days grow shorter and shorter, he must cut and gather enough wood to survive, in complete isolation, an Arctic winter that can reach 60 degrees below zero. He’ll live off mountain sheep and caribou – if the wolves and bears don’t get him first.

As the last of their kind, these true American originals represent something we certainly don’t see in our everyday lives which will surely prove for an insightful and enlightening watch – even if we’re not living “the simple life” ourselves.

Can you imagine a world without women? Which gender is more capable of running society’s day-to-day functions? What impact is today’s shift in gender roles having on the world? Lifetime dives deep into the gender gap issue to answer these questions by bringing a daring social experiment to life by removing the women from one American town in the major program event, The Week the Women Went, premiering Wednesday, June 6, from 10 – 11:30 PM.

Based on the ground-breaking British social experiment format from the BBC, The Week the Women Went focuses on the tight-knit community of Yemassee, South Carolina, from which its women left for one week this past fall. With the women escaping to an isolated site, the town’s men are left to handle all responsibilities — ranging from making the kids’ breakfast and putting them to bed to maintaining their households and coordinating events — many of which resulted in unforeseen issues forcing them to create a new perspective on life during the seven day experience.

Filled with a wide range of dramatic challenges and shocking emotions, The Week the Women Went will reveal what the men and women of Yemassee surprisingly learn about themselves and their roles in the home, relationships and society as close friendships are tested, unsung heroes recognized, old rivalries renewed and deep secrets exposed during their time apart.

Yemassee, located more than 240 miles northwest of Atlanta, was selected for The Week the Women Went after an extensive search that included nearly 100 towns in the U.S. Relationship expert, author and television commentator Dr. Wendy Walsh will narrate the program.

Episodes of The Week the Women Went will air on Wednesday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 20 at 10:00pm ET/PT. The series concludes on Wednesday, June 27 with a two-hour finale beginning at 9:00pm ET/PT.

USA Network is known for bringing us not just great television, but great characters. They’ve managed to do it again with their latest series Common Law, which premieres Friday, May 11 at 10 PM.

While I had the opportunity to see an early version of the pilot back when I visited the Common Law set in New Orleans back in December, I couldn’t wait to give it another watch when we got the screener just recently. So, I watched the same episode twice and I promise you – it didn’t get old!

The show focuses on two LAPD Robbery-Homicide Detectives, Travis Marks and Wes Mitchell, who are hitting the 7-year-itch in their relationship. While they are the best detectives in the county, their now-hostile relationship has the duo butting heads and letting personal drama get in the way of the job. So, what else would their chief do to rectify the problem and keep from having to fire his two best men but send them to marriage counseling! And, you can bet Travis and Wes are not super thrilled about it… but we certainly are because it makes for some hilarious moments.

We immediately meet Travis and Wes, played by actors Michael Ealy and Warren Kole, in a group session of couples therapy that they’re forced to attend. Come on, right there it’s promising. And it carries through with the promise as soon as the eager Travis’ hand goes in awkwardly in the air to volunteer the “partners” to go first in the session.

From the first minute, it’s clear that these two have some real tension and that that is going to provide us with some unforgettable moments and belly laughter. Before the first scene is out, the two (literally) go toe-to-toe and it’s in that moment that the show turned me from interested (and thoroughly amused) viewer to out-and-out fan. All it took was 4 minutes! Impressive.

Their back and forth banter continues throughout the show and by the end of the one and a half hour series premiere, you’ll wonder if your favorite new bromance can actually be between two guys who can’t stand one another.

But Travis and Wes aren’t alone in their trials, there’s also Dr. Emma Ryan, played by Lost’s Sonya Walger, who serves as the duo’s therapist and the legendary Jack McGee who plays Captain Sutton, the duo’s boss who has had his own success with therapy. (Can’t wait to hear more about that storyline!)

Admittedly, there were only two scenes – one at the opening and one at the closing of the episode – that took place in the therapy session… so, I hope we get more of those down the line. But, that doesn’t mean the therapy goes unforgotten. Instead, the “partner awareness profiles” they receive in the opening scene – profiles that include questions like “How did your partner get their name?” “What is your partner’s favorite color?” and “What are two adjectives that describe your partner?” – serve as a form of backbone for the entire episode.

The majority of the episode, then, is technically taken up by working their case, but what is undeniably the most compelling aspect of the show is the story and relationship between Wes and Travis. The chemistry is spot on between actors Ealy and Kole as they make us believe they have in fact grown to know and hate one another over the course of 7 years. The episode makes us want to know more about them individually, but also as a pair.

It’s certainly an interesting position to find yourself in as a viewer, because throughout the episode, you’ll find reasons to like both Wes and Travis. Perhaps the pilot even portrays Travis as a little more likeable overall, but you’ll simultaneously come to understand why these two can’t stand one another. And you’ll also probably find yourself realizing how much Travis you have in you and how much Wes. I think I’m a bit more like Wes than I’d care to admit…

USA is a great network to blend comedy and drama and while Common Law proves largely comedic, it’s not so in the same way as USA’s fan-favorite series Psych. There are hints at some more serious issues between the two not-so-buddy cops that display a balance we may not have seen from USA Network yet. There they go, USA’s pushing the envelope yet again.

The quality is what you’d expect from a USA show and the dialogue is perfectly timed, perfectly executed and perfectly written, leaving no doubt that USA is where the series belongs.

USA’s breakout hits Suits and Necessary Roughness, both going into their sophomore seasons this summer, will both prove to be must-watch series this season, but Common Law will also fast become a summer staple!

You won’t want to miss a single quip in this show!
Be sure to tune in for the premiere and see for yourself.

Series Premiere of Common Law debuts Friday, May 11 at 10 PM on USA.

But before we find out who the winner is, we’ll see more performances. More clips. And more clips. And did I mention more clips?

Carson started out by asking Blake what he thinks Jermaine’s future will be. Blake said Jermaine’s future is wide open, and he has no boundaries. He just needs to figure out what he wants to do. He also commented that seeing all 4 finalists on stage together reminds him of how different they all are.

Carson asked Xtina what made Chris connect with the public, and she completely deflected the question, and said that what Chris does is from the heart, and that all four have earned their spots on the show. And she kept her girls completely covered. Chest cold?

Cee Lo said that Juliet’s journey was a testament to her commitment, as he sported a T-shirt emblazoned with all the names of Team Red.

Carson asked Adam what advice he had for Tony. Adam didn’t answer that question either, but said that all four had earned his respect as artists.

Jermaine took to the stage with Pip, James Massone and Jamar Rogers, decked out in gold jackets for The Jackson 5′s I Want You Back. James wore the inevitable headband, Pip wore his bow tie, and they seemed to have a blast. Choreography and everything!

On to Flo Rider and Juliet. OK then.

Chris Mann brought back Lindsey Paveo and Katrina Parker for Bittersweet Symphony. What happened to Mr. Opera? This was a strange combination of voices. And Lindsey still irritates me.

Daryl Hall and John Oates came out of mothballs for Rich Girl, with Jermaine, Chris and Tony as backup singers. Jermaine. Backup singer. Ironic. Hope that’s the last time ever, Jermaine.

Kim Yarbrough, Naia Kete, Cheesa and Sera Hill returned to perform Superstition. I remember why some of them annoyed me (Cheesa and Sera).

Juliet opted for A Little Help From My Friends, aided by Erin Willett, RaeLynn and Jamar Rogers. RaeLynn still annoys me. Cool that two of the finalists wanted to sing with Jamar, though.

Lady Antebellum took the stage with Wanted You More.

I want to get to the results! At least knock two out, already!

Tony brought back Jordis Unga for Go Your Own Way. I miss Jordis.

Oh yay. Justin Bieber performing Boyfriend. It was live, all right.

FINALLY! After 110 minutes of filler, we’re finally getting to the results! Well, almost. First Carson asked the artists what winning would mean to them. He did mention that Tony was no longer one-dimensional. (Slam XTINA!!) Jermaine was already choked up, and said it would mean the world. Chris has found his place. Juliet is living her dream. Tony feels as if all the work he’s done up to this point hasn’t been in vain and he’s grateful.

The bottom two were separated by a mere 1/4 of 1 percentage point.

In 4th place is: Chris Mann. Xtina took to the stage, but apparently forgot to wear pants.

In 3rd place is: Tony Lucca. Could the Adam/Xtina bickering have hurt their contestants? Nah. This sounds right.

The Top 2 were separated by only 4 percentage points.

WINNER: Jermaine Paul! YES! He cried through his whole performance of I Believe I Can Fly. Sing backup no more, Jermaine!

Thanks for tuning in, reading, and bearing with my rants! See ya next season!

That’s right! The finals are here, and now only the viewers’ votes will determine the winner, who will get a recording contract with Universal Records. The remaining 4 will sing a solo, will duet with their coach, and will have a special surprise as well.

Carson starts by asking the coaches how they’re feeling at this point. Blake said that his job was not to find someone in his genre, but a great singer. He believes that’s Jermaine. Xtina is happy for all 4, saying they all deserve to be there. And she’s not feeling well…she’s sick. Cee Lo said Juliet is special because she’s lasted this long, and she’s also sick. Adam said that he and Tony got to be close friends through the process, and he’s glad the coaches can just sit back and enjoy it now.

Jermaine Paul, Team Blake, starts off with R.Kelly’s I Can Believe I Can Fly. I believe he can win. His passion, and emotion were amazing, and he did a beautiful job.

Xtina pointed out that she stood up for him. She thought he sang with heart and emotion, and that the song made for him. She said he was classy. Cee Lo also thought it was the perfect song choice, and he liked Jermaine’s look and the staging, saying there was depth in his simplicity. Adam thought he was so powerful in presence and presentation, and was engaging and elegant. Blake said his heart was in his throat, and he was speechless. He had never HEARD that song until tonight.

Surprise! The final 4 will each perform one of their coaches’ songs as a thank you tribute.

Juliet Simms starts off with Gnarles Barkley’s Crazy. She’s crazy good, and wants to thank him for turning his chair around and being her coach.

Chris Mann and Christina perform the first duet, The Prayer, by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. He looked so classy. She did not. Between the boobs and the back fat, her gown revealed way too much. It’s a good thing she can sing. Maybe her illness was caused by over-exposure.

Tony Lucca, Team Adam, sang his version of 99 Problems by Jay-Z. I didn’t know this song, not being a fan of rap, but his version was more country/blues. It was cool! But was it enough?

Blake thought it was a fun and cool version of the song. Xtina thought he sounded great, and has a cool voice, and that it was good fun, even thought the lyrics are derogatory to women. She also mentioned his wife and daughter…ummm, he has a son. Cee Lo thought it was “haaaaard”, and he liked it. Adam clarified that that the intent behind the song was not referring to women, but to life. He pointed out to Xtina that it’s called a metaphor. YAY ADAM! He thought Tony did an amazing job. Bravo!

Chris Mann sang The Voice Within as his tribute to Xtina. Xtina said that he’s a real man that respects women, and he said she made his dream come true and gave him a chance.

Juliet Simms and Cee Lo were the next duet, wtih Steppenwolf’s Born To Be Wild. It wasn’t that wild, maybe because Juliet was under the weather. I thought Cee Lo’s duet during Season 1 with Vicci Martinez was much more entertaining.

Tony Lucca and Adam teamed up with Yesterday by The Beatles. WOW! It was incredibly beautiful.

Jermaine Paul sang tribute to Blake with God Gave Me You. This man can really sing anything! He wants to thank Blake for the opportunity and chance, and said he gave him a real boost.

Chris Mann, Team Christina, sang Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up. Smart, smart, smart. The signer was a nice touch, and Xtina cried. So did Chris.

Cee Lo thought he is by far one of the most incomparable vocalists that he’s heard, and is cool. He also would like him to sing at his wedding should he ever marry again. Xtina thanked Chris for raising her up, and admired that he stuck to his guns, saying he was amazing.

Jermaine Paul and Blake did their duet, Soul Man by Sam & Dave (and the Blues Brothers). That was fun! Highly entertaining!

Tony Lucca sang Maroon 5′s Harder to Breathe as his tribute to Adam. He muffed the lyrics, but kept going. He then commented to Adam that there are a lot of words in that one! LOL! He said this was the chance of a lifetime, and thanked all 4 coaches for the amazing, life-altering experience.

Juliet Simms, Team Cee-Lo, closed out the night with Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. She did a great job!

Adam thought that what she does is so incredible, and that she has so much grit. Xtina thought it was amazing, and that she killed it, especially since she was performing sick, just like Xtina. Cee Lo said that with Juliet Simms on his team, he has no problems (His white T had NO PROBLEMS across the front).

So, how will this play out? My first choice is Jermaine, but I can see Chris getting enough votes, especially after his solo performance. I just think that Jermaine is the better performer, as well as having an awesome voice. Tune in tomorrow to find out who will be .

Adult Swim announced The Eric Andre Show, a new late night talk show directed by Andrew Barchilon and Kitao Sakurai, will be starting Sunday, May 20th at 12:30am (ET/PT).

The show’s traditional talk show format quickly devolves into chaos as its inept and bipolar host Eric Andre, along with his apathetic co-host Hannibal Buress (30 Rock, SNL), subvert all late night conventions.

Taking place on a dingy public-access TV channel within an alternate reality, The Eric Andre Show creates its own distorted pop culture universe by conducting interviews with an unpredictable mix of actual celebrities, “fake” celebrities and extreme real-life weirdos. These interviews are broken up with deranged man-on-the-street segments, surreal flashes of inexplicable studio chaos, talk show desk-pieces and the general deconstruction of late night’s most beloved tropes in every quarter hour episode.

The Eric Andre Show is produced by Abso Lutely and executive produced by Andre, Barchilon, Sakurai, Daniel Weidenfeld (China, IL) and Dave Kneebone (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!).

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. Airing nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT), Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, acquired and classic entertainment for youth and families, and is seen in 99.4 million U.S. homes.
