My son Christopher is a now statistic to a devastating part of Long Island that too many people want to slip under the carpet to protect the image that Long Island is beautiful place to live and raise a family. We live in a terrible world, but sometimes the terrible world is outside your door. In your schools and in your neighborhood: Heroin. Every week we are blasted with 24 hour news programs that don’t take a stand together to fix problems in our backyards. There is more rhetoric on the news programs that the media misses key opportunities to truly educate the public. I lost my son to heroin. Heroin in is a growing problem on Long Island. Occasionally a death from heroin use makes the news, but mostly it does not. This news rarely makes the media channels because Nassau County doesn’t making any “legal” money off this problem. The fact that our leaders can’t come up with solutions to this problem allows it to continue to grow. Heroin use is not what Nassau County officials want us to know about it would tarnish the image of long island being a beautiful place to live. It further sickens me with all the money Nassau County has and there are children dying every day because of this poison being given to our children. My solution is baseline, but it is with merit. If Nassau County can successfully make laws to make our streets safer from people driving under the influence, why can’t they make them to protect our children as well from the dredges of society that deal drugs. If we lose our children what’s all this for anyway : ** Nassau County has digital cameras at hundreds of traffic lights. One in particular, I watched one of your red light cameras take over 70 pics in a 30 minute time line at 65 dollars a flash 50 plus 15 surcharges we have the money. These pictures then generate income for the county. I will do whatever is in my power to initiate some stronger laws. I intend to organize a class action law suit against Nassau County for failing to protect our children from these drug dealing animals that subjecting me to the pain of losing Christopher. Heroin is a serious threat to our children.. If I am successful at getting stronger laws passed and get these animals off our streets and save another parent from the heartache. I don’t want another parents has to have the feelings that I will have for the rest of my broken life. We are not supposed to bury our children. It would so change my life to have a reading with her. It has been years since my father died and there is still so much guilt and so very many questions. I don't understand those who try to debunk her gift. If you don't believe that's your perogative, but there's no need to bash her or her gift. It is a gift and she shares willingly and freely. I love her show, more importantly I would love to meet her. She's inspiring and funny. I always feel uplifted and emotional after watching her show.
