(PCM) Most of us of know that nowadays, trying to navigate your way through the tangled web of politics these days can be incredibly challenging and, let’s be honest, at times a bit comical as well. It can sometime almost make us feel “brain dead”, so of course the brand new CBS summer series “BrainDead” seemingly could not have come along at a better time. It is a brilliant blend of political satire, drama, science fiction and heck, even a little possible romance thrown in for good measure and we can not wait to see just how far this genre-defying new series will push the envelope.
We were able to catch up with actor Tony Shalhoub who plays Senator Red Wheatus in the series to discuss what attracted him to the role, the political nature of the series, his often villainous side and more during a recent press day for “BrainDead” in NYC.
“BrainDead” is CBS’s new comic-thriller set in the world of Washington, D.C. politics. The series, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Danny Pino, Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James and Johnny Ray Gill comes from Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of THE GOOD WIFE.
“BrainDead” follows a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer (Winstead) getting her first job in Washington, D.C. and discovering two things: The government has stopped working, and something mysterious is happening to a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers.
“BrainDead” premieres Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10/9c on CBS.
