(PCM) Tina Fey and Amy Poehler go together like, well, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Whenever these two funny ladies and best friends get together, it’s memorable for everyone. So want some good news? They are co-hosting the 2013 Golden Globes!
Airing on January 13, 2013 on NBC, the 70th annual Golden Globes will certainly not be the first or last time we’ve seen the comedic-gold duo together. Whether it was their time on Saturday Night Live, particularly their run as co-anchors of the Weekend Update desk from 2004 to 2006, their co-starring roles in hysterically funny movies like 2004’s Mean Girls and 2008’s Baby Mama, their red carpet shenanigans, real life friendship or Tina’s infamous photobomb of Amy when her name was read as a nominee for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy at last year’s Golden Globes, it’s hard not to associate one with the other or take notice of their magnetic chemistry.
Considering the awards will air on NBC and Amy stars in the network’s Parks and Recreation and Tina stars in (and created) 30 Rock – not to mention the ladies’ history with Saturday Night Live – the decision may not be surprising, but it is still very exciting!
We’ve got this down as one of the funniest hosting gigs we’ll have seen in a while. They never fail to make us laugh, often to the point of tears, and given how much fun they were as mere attendees last year, there’s no telling what we’re in store for! Well, we know what we won’t be in store for… a fourth consecutive year of Ricky Gervais hosting.
