(PCM) In the past four seasons, Black Gold has been an integral part of the truTV line-up since the network was revamped in 2008. The show follows roughneck crews in the oil fields of Texas. They are forced to fight each the elements, their equipment and even each other in order to bring in the next big gusher.
In its fourth season, Black Gold averaged 1.6 million viewers, its most watched season yet. The series also ranked among cable’s Top 5 entertainment programs in its Wednesday 10 p.m. time slot among key male demos.
10 episodes have been ordered for the fifth season, to air this winter.
