(PCM) AMC’s hugely successful post-apocalyptic horror show, The Walking Dead, is adding another milestone to it’s impressive pedigree. The show will become the first television series to be featured at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Night Experiences.
This Fall, Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood are joining forces with The Walking Dead to for their Halloween Horror Nights events. This means visitors will be able to experience the horrors of the show in elaborately themed haunted mazes. The mazes will feature authentic designed sets very reminiscent of movie-quality sets that include some of the well known set locations of the TV show.
And of course, what would be a Walking Dead set without hungry, flesh-eating zombies? The haunted mazes will feature mobs of the undead to give a real feel to the antagonists of the show.
“We want people to experience the same terror of the walker-filled reality our characters faced in seasons one and two – and will continue to face in our third season,” said Greg Nicotero, Co-Executive Producer and Special Effects Make-up Artist for the series. “Our collaboration with Universal Studios’ creative teams is exciting as we work to truly capture the essence of the show.”
For those who do not know, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights events have a more than 20-year history of creating incredibly entertaining and horrifying Halloween experiences that are consistently rated the nation’s best. The events on each coast feature highly-themed, disturbingly real, haunted mazes based on everything from film to nightmares — and streets filled with hundreds of specially trained “scareactors.”
