There are plenty of our staple summer shows returning to TV in the coming weeks, but there are also a few new series that have us particularly excited. One of which is NBC’s Saving Hope which premieres Thursday, June 7, at 9/8c.
As series star Erica Durance says, “It’s a medical drama – with ghosts!” While CBS’ foray into the science versus faith medical/ghost premise (remember A Gifted Man?) didn’t end up getting renewed, it was one of the shows we would have liked to gotten that second season, because it really hit its stride a few episodes into the series. Let’s cross our fingers that Saving Hope can take it even further!
In the show, charismatic Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris ends up in a coma, leaving Hope-Zion Hospital in chaos – and his fiance and fellow surgeon, Alex Reid, in a state of shock. Along with newly arrived star surgeon, Joel Goran, Reid races to save Harris’ life. As the action unfolds, the comatose Harris explores the hospital halls in “spirit” form, not sure if he’s a ghost or a figment of his own imagination. Reid, along with her fellow doctors, presses on to save his life and the lives of their other patients as they deal with the complicated and courageous decisions that are made in their daily struggle to keep hope alive.
Check out a sneak peek of what we can expect from the series below. We think it will have you tuning in tomorrow evening!
With a cast led by actors Erica Durance, Michael Shanks and Daniel Gillies who all have been a part of fan-favorite series like Smallville, Stargate Atlantis and The Vampire Diaries, we have high hopes that this, too, will turn into a much beloved line on their IMDB pages.
Don’t Miss the Series Premiere of Saving Hope,
Thursday, June 7th at 9/8c on NBC.
