Tomorrow night, January 17, at 10/9c, you are going to want to be tuned into USA Network for the mid-season premiere of White Collar!

We were lucky enough to screen the mid-season premiere episode, “Checkmate,” ahead of time and, boy, does it deliver. Drama, suspense, and humor abound and, of course, seeing Neal, Peter, Elizabeth and Mozzie doesn’t hurt.

Whether you’ve been counting down the months and days since the last episode or you haven’t seen more than a handful of episodes from the entire series, it doesn’t matter! It’s that good.

But in case you’re on the fence (or you just want a few hints as to what’s in store) here are five reasons why you cannot miss this must-watch episode! (Warning: slight spoilers)

1) Elizabeth.
After the winter finale left us with our hearts at our feet seeing that Elizabeth had been taken, any sighting of Elizabeth helps. But Elizabeth has always been a strong woman, so while we assure you there is reason to fear for her life and her safety thanks to her nasty kidnappers, we’ll also find some more reasons to revere Mrs. Suit tonight.

2) Peter, Neal and Mozzie doing what they do best – together.
Yes! You read that right. Neal and Peter and Mozzie team up and are better than ever. Now, it’s your choice to decide what it is “they do best,” but if it’s saving the day, conning someone, setting up contingency plans or stealing something, let me tell you – they’ve got it covered tonight. The dream team is in full working order for this episode, pulling out all the stops to save Elizabeth. That means doing whatever it takes and if nothing else, you know they do that well.

3) Battle with ancient treasure.
We love the humor that comes with this show and we certainly love the drama, but tonight we get to watch a nice exchange of action go down when a fight breaks out. But this isn’t the normal throw down. No, two main characters – maybe three – end up fighting with makeshift weapons from ancient treasure. Like, seriously ancient treasure. You know, a sphinx cane, a golden shield and even an original Raphael.

4) True feelings come out.
We might love the action breaks, but we’re definite suckers for when this trio of men have their softer moments and let their true feelings show. Tonight we get a lot of that as saying goodbye and the threat of no more Elizabeth hang over everyone’s heads and make Peter, Neal and Mozzie says things we may never have thought they would. But even better than what they say is how they are forced to act on those feelings.

5) The last scene.
You might not even realize it’s the final scene because the episode just moves so quickly, but it’s an incredible one. Between a sneaky little twist, a revelation from one of our beloved characters and some crucial information divulged in the last minute of the episode, this is definitely where the scene and tone is set for what we’re going to be getting for the rest of the season. And it’s going to be quite something, perhaps changing the trio’s dynamic forever.

If this episode is any indication of the striking performances and exciting storylines ahead, there’s reason number six to tune in. Could this be the season Neal deserves to be free? We’re not saying – maybe because we’re not sure yet – but, hey, if it is… you won’t want to miss a minute of it.

And if you want even more White Collar, be sure to enter our contest for your chance to watch the rest of this season in style – the only way Neal Caffrey would want it! Interested? Check it out here!

White Collar mid-season premiere airs Tuesday, January 16, at 10/9c on USA Network.
