PCM had the chance to preview the series premiere episode of TNT’s new drama, Rizzoli and Isles, airing Monday, July 12… and we’re already hooked!
A seemingly unlikely duo, the series features two leading ladies: Boston detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon, Law & Order) and medical examiner Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander, NCIS).
Complete opposites, expressed all the way down to their clothes, Isles the constant fashionista and Rizzoli clad in loose pants, the two still share a charming chemistry that will surely become a focus of the show.
It’s only the first episode and yet we’re thrown into a case with personal history for the lead characters, complete with twists, entertainment, and back story all within the hour. If this is just the first episode, I can only imagine what the season holds in store.
Sure, it may still have a similar crime drama basis as all of our favorite Fall shows, but we need something to keep us amused and intrigued during the summertime. And Rizzoli and Isles could be it!
Plus, there’s an adorable dog named Jo Friday. What else could you want?
