It was a long time ago — 30 years to be exact — in a galaxy not so far away when Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back was first released to movie theaters.  Considered by many to be the greatest movie sequel of all time, Empire will celebrate its 30th Anniversary on Spike TV with a Star Wars movie marathon and a special simulcast in Times Square on Saturday, May 22.

Spike will feature a Star Wars movie marathon featuring the original trilogy on Saturday, May 22  from 1:00 PM – 3:30 AM, ET/PT.  Presented in HD where available, the schedule is as follows:

·       1:00 – 4:00 PM, ET/PT – Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope

·       4:00 – 7:00 PM, ET/PT – Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back

·       7:00 – 10:00 PM, ET/PT – Star Wars: Episode VI  Return of the Jedi

·       10:00 PM – 1:00 AM, PT/ET – Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope

·       1:00 – 3:30 AM, ET/PT – Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back

Spike viewers and Star Wars fans in the New York City area are invited to come to Times Square to watch a special simulcast of The Empire Strikes Back on Saturday, May 22 at 4:00PM ET on MTV’s 44 ½ foot video board.
