Pretty Little Liars Set Visit and Interviews in Preparation for Season 2's Midseason Finale

By: Paulette Cohn

Of the four Pretty Little Liars, it seems that Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) has the most damaging secret to keep. After all, if word gets out about her and Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding), not only would her mother be extremely angry with her, but it would be the end of Ezra's career as an educator.

The problem is that both Aria and Ezra believe that they are soulmates, so despite the fact that she is just 17, they feel justified in their romance. And truth be told, he isn't that much older than her: 23 or 24.

But as the mid-season finale is upon us -- Tuesday, August 30 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family -- there are two people who could reveal the truth about their relationship: Both Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker), who would like Aria for himself, and Jackie Molina (Paloma Guzmán), Ezra's ex, have seen them kissing.

We caught up with Lucy on the Pretty Little Liars set to talk about the mid-season finale, but more importantly to get the scoop on whether or not Ezria will be exposed!

Will the truth about Aria and Ezra be uncovered?

A punishes each of the girls and presents them with a task that they have to complete. Aria's task deals with Ezra, and in the finale, you think there's someone in their lives that is threatening to expose them once again, so there's the idea lurking that they could be outed for real this time in front of her parents.

Isn't it about time?

That's what I'm saying! Two seasons. We've got to tell people! I see they're only gaining momentum; they're going to be together for a while so it's going to happen sooner or later.

On the other hand, Aria's mom came down hard when she thought it was Ezra and Spencer.

You know that was a funny moment because Aria thought it was the perfect opportunity, her mom was confronting her as opposed to the opposite, thinking it was Spencer. But it opened a door, in a way. At least she got a step forward knowing that Ezra is involved with a student, she just doesn't know that the student is her daughter.

What did you make of the reaction to Jason kissing Aria?

It got really intense! I had to get off Twitter because people were being so mean. The Ezria fans are really hard core, they love the two of them together and there was a percentage of people who liked Jason as well, but a lot of people were not very happy about it. But I liked that storyline. Because Aria saw the good side of Jason that no one else had seen, and, if it wasn't for Aria, he would have been in a bad light throughout the show, so you got to see a better side of him.

Is Jason going to do something with this knowledge of them?

Umm... possibly... Jason has a lot to do... He is very suspicious and he has a lot of inside information that I don't think he's sharing with anyone.

Who would you pick? Ezra or Jason?

Oh gosh, as Lucy? Oh no, this is going to get me in trouble! Like looks-wise? I don't know. Aria lives a hard life. If I'm going to give the politically correct answer: Ezra. I feel like Aria really does believe that Ezra is her soulmate so Ezra. I guess. Or both.

Is there more to Ali's box?

Yeah. In the finale, there's an item that's in the box that has to do with the tasks that A gives them and we learn… what we're shooting now, which is the second half of the season, which doesn't air until January, we use the box to lure in A and play a trick on whoever A might be.

Do you have a favorite scene from the mid-season finale?

Yeah. It's the one I can't talk about. But it's the one involving mud, the dresses and running around. And that's it. You'll know what I'm talking about once you see it. It's fun.

What do you feel is the most appropriate punishment for A once that gets resolved?

That would be the easy answer: Kill him/her. I don't know. I feel like A is probably mentally insane so he/she should go to a facility. It seems so far in the future that we'll find A but once we do, lock him/her up for good. I feel like A would be the person that would escape from prison, though.

Do you feel like A has to be someone we know?

I don't know. My opinion is, I don't even know if we've met A at this point. A lot of people think it is Jenna or Jason or Garrett, but my opinion is we haven't met who A could be.
